maybe it's time for a seachange

I recently had the pleasure of a visit from a friend who earlier this year packed up and moved her life to Perth on the whim of needing something new. I guess I could understand it at the time although I have to admit, the thought of moving to Perth, to the opposite side of the country, had never crossed my mind. 

During the short time she was there, she seems to have gained a lot of clarity in her life. She's changed what she's studying and completely changed her lifestyle for the better. All of that while I have continued along, studying the same course I've been studying for 5 years now, surrounded by the same people and living the same life. 

It made me wonder whether I need a seachange.. a change-up.. a shake-up... Call it what you will, but I began to wonder whether the time had come for me to make a change.  

It takes a lot of courage to leave everything you know to take a chance on something that could completely blow up in your face in a place you're not familiar with.

I want to be able to take that leap into the unknown and just trust that it will all work out for the best. 

Six months until I finish my degree and I think now, having seen how wonderfully a seachange can impact your life, I'll definitely be considering a move.. a change. There's so much out there to let it go to waste because you're afraid of failing.

gisele: a league of her own

There are models, and then there are supermodels. One does not automatically equal the other. Gisele Bundchen is one of a kind. She obviously cemented her supermodel status long ago and even with new models on the scene every season, Gisele still not only books some of the biggest jobs but looks outstandingly beautiful and fresh every time. And on top of her statuesque, envy-inducing beauty, she also has a social conscious that would make any greenie jealous.

sass & bide: seekerstate

I have to admit, I'm incredibly fussy and rarely ever like, let alone adore, an entire collection. The last week or so though I've been mulling over the sass & bide spring/summer 2012 collection 'seekerstate', and I'm pretty sure I'm in love. The combination of the bright colours, the gold and leather, the structured jackets with the loose, asymmetrical lines... Seriously, I want every piece. Yes, it may be a bit harder to find a place to wear some of the pieces, like the fishnet top or the metallic blue jacket, but if I could just get my hands on them... ah, I would find a place to wear them. Even if it had to be to my local coles. 

Maybe I'm biased. I have been a pretty diehard sass & bide fan for a few years now. It's not hard to see why though when each season seems better than the previous.

rachel zoe

Finally, I've had a chance to catch up on my recorded episodes of Rachel Zoe tonight.

God I love her. Amazing style, amazing dedication to her profession, and amazing dedication to her family (I haven't seen the episodes since her son was born but, let's face it, we all read what's in the news... She's amazing. end. of. story.).  I can only hope I'm able to have enough motivation and dedication to start something I love and stick with it. And have an amazing husband who supports everything I do.. Even if he doesn't always understand the craziness of it all. What an inspiration.

If you were searching for a reason to get motivated to hit the gym this summer, Karlie Kloss' editorial in the December issue of Vogue Italia should be sure to do the trick. Shot by Steven Meisel, the 18-page spread shows an amazingly toned, statuesque Kloss with little to no clothing and, with a body like that, who can blame her? Definitely feeling the need to do some emergency exercise.... maybe after Real Housewives of New Jersey has finished..
